Owning a Biskit means you’re entitled to a share of the asset's benefits. This could be monthly income and the potential to grow your capital over time.
The benefits you receive are directly tied to how many Biskits you hold relative to the total available. For example, if an asset is divided into 100 Biskits and you own 10, you’d receive 10% of the income and capital growth generated by that asset.

Absolutely! On the Biskit platform, fractional investing works through Unit Trusts that divide an asset into smaller, manageable shares. Each investment has a Trust Deed outlining how the Trust operates, including rules for assigning, transferring, and creating units. The number of units in each Trust varies, but together they represent the entirety of the asset listed on the platform.
When you purchase a Biskit, you’re acquiring a unit within the Trust tied to your chosen asset. These units are allocated to your account and officially recorded in the Trust’s unit registry, confirming your ownership rights.

How do I actually make money?
On the Biskit platform, investors can profit in two main ways: Income Distribution and Capital Growth.
Income Distribution
When you invest in income-generating assets like commercial real estate or business equity, you’re entitled to a share of the income they produce. This is reflected as an "Estimated Monthly Income per Biskit", giving you an indicator of what to expect monthly.
Let’s take a look at how income from a commercial real estate asset is typically distributed:
Rental Income: The property generates rental income from its tenants, provided it’s tenanted.
Deductions: Routine expenses like maintenance, strata fees, and other outgoings are subtracted from the rental income.
Income Allocation: The remaining net income is divided among all Biskits linked to the asset’s trust. Your share is proportional to the number of Biskits you own for that asset.
Capital Gains
Asset values on the Biskit platform are periodically re-evaluated, automatically updating the quoted value of your Biskits. This means the value of your investment reflects the asset's current worth.
For example, if you originally purchased a Biskit for $200 and the asset's value grew by 7.02% over a year, your Biskit would now be worth $267.55. To capture this growth, you can sell your Biskits directly from your account portfolio. Biskits made for sale are added to a queue and relisted as available making them available to purchase by the Biskit community.
